When I first started Journey Healers in 2008, I would post an ad here or there, and then sit back and wait for clients to come running to me. I thought, Hey, I'm open, come on in for business! I waited, and waited, and then waited some more, and I admit, I got frustrated.
When I got my first paying client, I was thrilled! But then, I had to wait and wait some more to get more clients. This time however, instead of getting frustrated, I decided it was time for me to learn everything I could about growing a business. Luckily, this 'lack' period of clients, gave me the opportunity to understand the fundamentals of building a business and gaining a clientelle!
The process of building a lucrative business really put my own beliefs and core values to the test, as I struggled to keep the core vision of what I wanted my business to be (and not be), my integrity, my mission, and how to make money while doing it.
When I discovered that I could have a business that was built around my core values and beliefs, it was like a door just opened up and a light went off in my head.
